Sober Living for Men from Pasadena

Structured men’s sober living in Los Angeles for residents of Pasadena — a set daily routine, real accountability, peer support and help getting back to work.

A structured house for men from Pasadena

Pasadena has a real recovery community and a real bar scene, and Old Town is where they overlap — Colorado Boulevard, the 210 and the 110, and a city where the meetings and the using are on the same blocks. Our homes are in Los Angeles, about thirty minutes southwest. For men from Pasadena and Altadena, the distance is small but it changes the day: a house with a set routine, real accountability, and a peer group that doesn’t know the story.

Sober living for men from Pasadena and the foothills

Pasadena has one of the healthier recovery communities in the county, with meetings across the city and a lot of long-term sober men in it. What it also has is Old Town, the Rose Bowl scene and a social life that runs through bars on Colorado Boulevard. Men who got sober here and slipped usually say the same thing: it wasn’t the house, it was the neighborhood. Our homes are about thirty minutes southwest, which puts the old map at a distance while keeping a Pasadena job, a JPL or Caltech commute, or family in Altadena and Sierra Madre within easy reach.

How the house works

Every resident is on the same daily schedule: up at the same time, somewhere to be all day, home by curfew. There’s a weekly house meeting, chores rotate, and drug testing is random. Men who are in outpatient keep going; men who aren’t start with meetings and a job search in the first week. The house manager lives with the men and notices — that’s the whole point of a house manager.

Who it fits, and who it doesn’t

Men 18 and over who have completed detox and are not in active withdrawal. Most Pasadena residents come to us from a residential program or an IOP and stay while they finish it and get back to work. We don’t take men who need medical care we can’t provide, and we’ll say that on the phone rather than after you’ve moved in. Admissions: (424) 327-9081.
