Updated October 21, 2026. Compiled by Sober Living California, a free directory run by Design for Recovery, from public listings.
We don’t list any sober living homes in Alhambra yet, and the western San Gabriel Valley is thin in our directory overall. The nearest listed homes are in Echo Park to the west and Monrovia and Covina to the east.
Nearest listed homes
- Echo Park: Rainbow Hill Sober Living, which describes itself as an LGBTQ+ affirming home for gay, bi and transgender men. Rates vary.
- Monrovia: May House Sober Living, a women’s home listed at $850–$900 a month.
- Covina: seven listed homes for men and women, from $675 a month.
Many more homes are listed without a neighborhood on our Los Angeles page, which is the best place to compare prices across the city.
Choosing between the city and the valley
A home closer to central Los Angeles usually means more transit and more meetings nearby; a San Gabriel Valley home may be quieter and closer to family in the area. Either way, ask about house rules, drug testing, what happens after a relapse and what the rent covers before paying a deposit.
California does not license sober living homes, so use our checklist. Know a home in Alhambra we should list? It’s free; see our listing policy.
