Updated October 20, 2026. Sober Living California is a free directory run by Design for Recovery. Listings come from the Sober Living Network’s public member directory and are always free.
We list three sober living homes in Santa Ana, all for men and all members of the Sober Living Network, a coalition that inspects its member homes. Their listed prices sit at two very different levels, so it’s worth knowing what you’re comparing.
Santa Ana homes at a glance
Doorway Living: men, listed at $900 a month.
Stay The Course – I and Stay The Course – II: two men’s houses run by the same operator, each listed at $3,000 a month.
Full contact details are in the listings on this page. A $3,000 home and a $900 home can both be well run; the difference is usually in room type, staffing and what the rent includes. Ask each one to put that in writing.
Other Orange County homes nearby
Garden Grove, just west of Santa Ana, has OC Alliance House (men, $850). Farther south, Laguna Hills has three men’s homes and Mission Viejo has two women’s homes. See the Laguna Hills and Mission Viejo pages. We are still adding Orange County homes, so this list will grow.
Getting around
The Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center is a Metrolink and Amtrak stop, and OCTA buses cover the city, so a resident without a car can still reach work or an outpatient program.
Before you move in
California does not license sober living homes. Ask who manages the house, whether staff are on site, how drug testing works, what happens after a relapse and whether prescribed medication is allowed. Our guide to checking a sober living home covers the rest. Know a Santa Ana home we should add? Listing is free; see our listing policy.

People who have finished detox or a treatment program and want structure before living alone
People stable enough to work, study or look for work
People who want to live with others who are also staying sober
Families looking for a drug-free home with house rules for someone they love
Looking at sober living options in Santa Ana?
Santa Ana is central to Orange County, so a home here keeps you within reach of most OC jobs and family. The trade-off is a small choice of listed homes. If none fit, compare the rest of our Orange County list or look at Long Beach, which is the nearest large group of homes across the county line.
