Updated October 20, 2026. From Sober Living California, a free directory run by Design for Recovery. Listings are free.
No home inside Valley Village is listed here yet. North Hollywood is right next door, and it has two listed men’s homes, so most people searching from Valley Village start there.
Homes closest to Valley Village
- North Hollywood: Chandler Lodge (men, $975 a month) and Coast Recovery (men, $950).
- Sherman Oaks: Stansbury Recovery Residence (men, $1,000–$1,100).
- Van Nuys: Coast Recovery – Van Nuys (men, $950).
All four are men’s homes. Women should look at Fresh Start in Reseda ($850) or our women’s sober living page; for coed homes, see Strive Sober Living in San Fernando.
Why North Hollywood is handy
North Hollywood Station is where the Metro B Line subway meets the G Line busway, so a home near it connects to Hollywood and downtown in one direction and across the Valley in the other. For a resident who is working or going to outpatient care without a car, that matters as much as the rent.
Questions to ask the homes
Ask whether a manager lives on site, how often drug tests happen, what the guest and curfew rules are, and what happens after a relapse. Get the rent and what it covers in writing. Our guide to checking a sober living home covers the rest, and the Studio City page covers the same homes from the south side.
Operators in Valley Village can be listed free; see the listing policy.
Not sure where to start? Call (424) 327-9081. This guide is run by Design for Recovery; we’ll help you compare options, including homes we don’t run. Listings are free, and we take no referral fees. Sober living is not treatment, and California does not license sober living homes. Our guides cover how to check a home, what sober living costs and how long people stay.
